March in New York is a tricky one! It brings some initial promise of warmer days but also the sporadic reminder of the winter that's just been. While I don't really mind winter anymore, I still find myself longing for the next thing, and March is the dreaded "transition month." I'd rather rip off the bandage and get things started. Uniform for Fall

I woke up one morning about a month or two ago and realized that most of my clothes didn't fit. They were too big. Imagine my surprise, for I'd only ever had this happen in the opposite direction. (My laundry skills shrink clothes more than I'd like to admit.) 

Yes, I was going to the gym more, but I hadn't lost weight. Initially, I didn't think too much about it, but then there wasn't any more a belt could do. That's when I knew that I couldn't put off shopping any longer.

Dog Days of Summer

Over the next few weeks, we'll have our final summer parties and last beach trips. Folks will start settling back into the flow after many weekend trips out to the Hamptons. The Olympics will be over, and we'll be anxiously awaiting a victory by Serena at the U.S. Open over Labor Day (fingers crossed). 

And through all of this, I want to be as comfortably dressed as possible. So far, this has meant short-sleeved everything.
