First Thoughts, Second Picks

Now, I'm hopeful. Well, I never truly lost hope; I just spent most of July wondering how to take another step. I was worried that the next one would be the wrong one. Nevertheless, God reminded me through many people and circumstances of just how mighty and perfect His plan is. 

I'm excited for fall, and I hope you are as well! To kick things off, I'd like to share a few pictures from recent activities. These are places I've visited and people I've met. I share them with you now because I truly believe that they provide a greater viewfinder into this month's "first thoughts." And they certainly are places I'd visit a second time (and pick again).

Heck, just take your music. But make it a point to meet with people and uncover a world that can't be captured by the instant stuff.

While the city is a wonderful place to live, it's always good to sneak away for a few days to relax, so I hopped on a plane and headed south for home in Mississippi. February was the last time for me to be home and even that trip was a short one—a mere 36 hours. I've now been home for three days, and I feel all the more rejuvenated. I've gotten to see friends from school that hadn't seen in over a year, and I've spent time with grandparents and other extended family.
