hello, 2016.

Hello...it's me! I hope each of you is enjoying a great start to 2016. Is it really time for us to be wishing each other a swell new year again? It feels like 2015 was only a drop in the bucket.

But in all actuality, it was a pretty big year, that ended with my starting a new job. That's why I haven't posted in awhile. I needed to take time to transition into my new role on the Social Media team at Warby Parker, to help host holiday gatherings with my friends and family, and to plan for this new year.

So far, I've decided that this year is going to be the year of "doing the things I've always wanted to do." I know that God has given me (and each one of you) gifts and talents, so why are we squandering them in fear? No more.

It's going to be a long road, but that's what I'm excited about—to put forth my best effort, to meet people along the way and impact the world the best way possible.

My college composition professor once told me, "Drew, stop trying to save the world through this one paper." By this, she meant that I wasn't focused in my argument or my vision casting. I wasn't getting to the root of the opportunity; I was merely throwing statistics around for the sake of flash and flair.

Even though she said that to me almost six years ago, I still find that mentality creeping into my projects. So while this year is about trying things I've always wanted to try, it's also going to be about accomplishing this in the most methodical way possible—with planning, reflection, and discipline.

As this mindset relates to the blog, I'll continue to craft this site as a space for conversations about menswear and adventures in and around the city. It'll be a place to spur you towards your own dreams and better prepare you for your next trip to the great city of New York.

Some implementations will likely change, but it's still going to be the same me...just slightly more focused, vulnerable, and communicative. I hope you'll enjoy and engage. It's going to be a great year!
