walkin' in memphis

Another week has come to an end, and with it the beginnings of fall. This summer has been a wonderful time of growth, new friends, and new dreams. I'm excited to dive deeper into those reflections in the coming weeks, but today I want to recap my final summer trip: Memphis in 36 hours.

Last Saturday, the fourth of my five college roommates got married to his girlfriend of five years. While my luck with airlines hasn't been the greatest since moving to the city, this was an occasion that I simply wasn't going to miss—yes, even if that meant only getting to be there for a very (and I mean very) short period of time. Nevertheless, we had a fantastic time worshipping together during the union of Conner and Mary Kathryn and then celebrating into the night after the ceremony.

Memphis is only about three hours north of my hometown, so I've visited numerous times for sporting events. But I'd never really gotten to see some of the iconic spots around town. Luckily, I was able to squeeze in a few with the help of another college friend who calls the town home. Below, you'll find my top picks—definitely check them out on your next visit.

Gipson's Donuts

Brother Juniper's
