This was a short week for me, since I spent the first half with my family in Chicago. Regardless, many stimulating conversations and situations have occurred in the past four days. A lot of which were prompted by the Fox News debate on Thursday evening. I wasn't able to watch it in full while it was happening live, but I've spent quite a bit of time catching up online through various outlets like Youtube and Twitter. If you haven't read the highlights or watched the debate in full, I would encourage you to take at least 30 minutes to do so before tomorrow.
From this and other conversations at work and with friends, I've come to terms with the fact that I can only learn by asking questions and listening to responses. But it also has to be thoughtful and appropriate depending on time and surroundings. That doesn't mean to skirt around the bush but to exercise discernment and issue respect. That's what I'm praying for today, and I hope you'll join me.
