Hello there! My name is Drew, and I'm a preacher's son from Mississippi. I moved to New York in June 2014 after graduating from the Brock School of Business at Samford University.
I enjoy long runs through Central Park and iced lattes at just about any coffee shop. I'm a firm believer in handwritten notes and belting songs while cooking. I usually ride the subway with my eyes closed. I'm not scared; I just like feeling the motion of the train.
But don't worry, I go through the city with eyes wide opened, always looking for new spots to explore and ways to plug in.
Over the past few years, I've ebbed and flowed through the blogging community mainly because I wasn't sure of my lane. As I've tried various things, it's been very helpful to follow the vulnerabilities and explorations of others as they share content online. Throughout my perusals, I've found that the most enjoyable blogs are the ones that are focused, visually appealing, and consistently honest.
#drewinthecity started as a way to document my new life in New York, mostly for my family. Since then, it's evolved into the overall umbrella for what I feel the Lord is calling me to do and who He's leading me to be in this city.
Ultimately, I'm a dude, trying to pursue creative passions while meeting others who want to do the same (whether they know it or not). I hope you'll follow along!
